The SCH MSMGT60 Arena Leveller Menage Grader is unique in its versatility, and it can maintain a variety of horse arenas, including the most popular menage types:
The heavy-duty S-shaped sprung tines delve into the menage and turn over the surface, refreshing the top layer and helping to prevent algae build-up that can occur if arena maintenance is not carried out. The penetration depth of the tines can be infinitely adjusted or lifted out of use entirely, allowing you to use only the crumble rollers.
The two crumble rollers have several uses; the first is to keep the tines level as they travel across the menage. By utilising two extra-wide rollers, this arena leveller ensures that the tines always penetrate at the perfect depth, which no other set-up can hope to accomplish.
The second use of the rollers is to level the arena surface. The divots the horses create are quickly levelled and filled in, usually in a single pass. This is achieved by the "crumble" nature of the rollers. This means the gaps between the roller bars gather material and distribute it across a larger area, eliminating high areas and filling deeper areas.
The MSMGT60 rollers have one of the highest rod counts compared to inferior machines. They utilise 16 solid steel rods each, which ensures the roller can turn smoothly and redistribute material at the optimal rate.
It is the combination of the sprung tines and the two rollers that make this machine so effective and the country's favourite arena leveller. The first roller flattens out any inconsistencies in the menage, and then the tines turn over and agitate the surface. Before the material has had a chance to fall and settle completely, the rear roller breaks up any chunks and distributes them. This gives you a level, rejuvenated, and enviable finish.
Don't forget about the arena's edges, where material naturally builds up against the kickboards. Typically, you will have to manually pull this in using a shovel, but the MSMGT60 will do it for you!
The optional side-scraper is height adjustable and will pull the edge build-up into the tines and roller, where it will be distributed across the entire width of the machine.
Any arena leveller must have height-adjustable tines, as every menage differs. The penetration depth of the tines is adjusted by lowering or raising the rollers. As the rollers lower, the tines naturally rise. This lets the tines penetrate deeply, or they can be above the surface not working at all, and everything in between.
The adjustment uses two screw-jacks - one on either roller. Most customers simply adjust once to the desired penetration depth and leave it in place.
So that you don't have to raise the harrowing tines up every time you wish to transport the harrow, and so that you're not running the rollers over grass, concrete and gravel when travelling from storage to the menage, there are two transport wheels which are also on their own screw jacks.
This lets you quickly and effortlessly lower the wheels when transporting the MSMGT60 and raise them at the arena.
Rain and ice can quickly cause your menage to be out of action for multiple weeks or months of the year.
The MSMGT's sprung tines and roller can help alleviate the impact of those frosty nights by keeping the surface turned over and broken up. No menage grader can break up a frozen-solid menage, but the MSMGT60 is ideal for helping prevent it from freezing solid in the first place.
The MSMGT60's versatility doesn't end with its features and the variety of surfaces it can work on. The machine is designed for use behind many towing vehicles, and various towing hitches are available as optional extras.
The most common vehicles used to tow these units are:
Compact tractors are also a popular favourite to tow these menage units. However, instead of towing the MSMGT60, there is a choice of three sizes of tractor-mounted menage graders. These attach to a tractor's 3-point linkage. The product references for these are the 3MSMGT48, 3MSMGT60 and 3MSMGT72, with the last two digits denoting the working width in inches.
The towed version is available in two working widths. These are the 48" MSMGT48 and the 60" MSMGT60. Both models are identical, and it's only the working width that's different.

We have found it a game changer with my arena. Have had people comment on how good the arena is looking. It has been fantastic at levelling the carpet fibre and sand without scraping the carpet fibre off the top like others have done. It is just so easy to hitch up and use. 5 minutes running over and job done. Would highly recommend it to others. My only regret is that I didn’t get one sooner as struggled for years with other devices. Regards…Mandy a happy customer! 😀
Absolutely fabulous service, everything arrived very quickly with updated notifications. Would highly recommend and will definitely use Zaros again. Thank you to all your team.
Excellent for restoring and maintaining a rubber and sand arena, hitched to a quad bike. The arena hadn't been used for a few years but the grader brought it back to life. Weekly attention has kept the arena surface in great condition. The grader is very robust and the settings are easily adjusted to suit our requirements. The grader is very robust and well made. One suggestion would be to have some sort of height measure or ruler scale on the adjustments to make it easier to select the same height settings.
Thank you for your detailed review. The height adjustment of the rollers / tines can be set just once, and when you're happy with the position, you won't have to alter the height again. Instead of raising the rollers to allow the machine to be transported, lower the transport wheels instead. This way, the rollers and tines will be kept at the same settings during each use.
The grader is perfect and does a really good on different surfaces. I have two ménages with very different surfaces and its brilliant!
